I set out to create a little something different in the residential home design and build industry. My mission statement and vision would be based on a bold idea and an affinity with the design and construction process of custom homes and remodel projects.
- I would work with homeowners as their house design professional, trusted advisor, advocate and biggest ally at every step, making the entire process easier and smoother from start to finish and dialing down the drama that is becoming so typical in today’s construction projects.
- I would work with licensed architects, interior designers and builders in a collaborate effort to increase enjoyment to their companies. By being their ally rather than their competition I could impact the lives of so many more people and utilize my diverse skills and insights in an industry that is struggling to keep up with the challenges facing the residential construction industry today. (Rising material costs, labor shortages, increased competition, technology adoption, safety, shrinking payoff margins)
- I would only work with people I trust and only for those who trust me. I used to keep this a secret because I was afraid people might take it the wrong way. Now I announce it proudly because I’ve realized it has allowed me to grow and develop a truly unique set of skills. This approach has also resulted in working with some pretty amazing people throughout the United States and in other countries. Nothing beats doing what you love for people you respect and adore and getting paid for it.
Life is simply too short to not enjoy what you do and who you do it for.
